An unexpected space hides at a bend of a corridor in the Palais Garnier, the library-museum. But how can we explain that ?
The library was created in order to keep all documents related to the auditorium activity such as sets models, costumes models, photos, operas librettos, programmes, and many others, all of this to protect the Opera’s heritage.
The museum, located behind this room, preserves objects linked to the building’s life.
That’s where you can admire the sketch of the auditorium’s original ceiling’s painting as well as costumes which were worn by different dancers and singers.
Once again, we notice that the Palais Garnier is much more than an auditorium.
